Even though the holiday season is hectic with preparations and parties, it’s still important to have nights under the mistletoe with your significant other. There are so many holiday-themed dates you can experience with your special someone, and we’re here to help spark some ideas in you.
To name just a few initial ideas: Attend a tree lighting, go to a local light festival, make a date picking a Christmas tree, decorate a tree together, see a holiday play like a Christmas Carol or a ballet like the Nutcracker!
There are just so many possibilities during the season: have a day of watching Christmas themed movies and baking cookies! Make gingerbread houses. Go ice-skating!
Do something very meaningful. For instance, a cute little example is to pick an ornament out that represents something special about the two of you for that particular year. Go to the Hallmark store together and try to pick an ornament that embodies the two of you together — whether it be something serious, an inside joke you have, something the two of you enjoy, whatever you like.
For instance, if your significant other loves to camp and you two have gone camping together, find him an ornament that represents this, like with camping lantern or a tent or camping supply figurines inside. A cute one would even say something like “Happy Campers.”
It is important to mix up these dates and the holiday season with things that are still meaningful, but don’t cost a lot of money. The holiday season is not about how much money spend — it’s about showing the people that you love that you care. Remember to make time for your significant other. It doesn’t have to be some big date night. Instead, it can be something small, like the things mentioned above.
